It appears my hits came from alphainventions.com which seems to be a site dedicated to cycling through wordpress sites. From my 20 seconds of looking, it seems you can promote your blog by submitting it to be in the cycle for however long that lasts for. I don’t know.
In short it seems like viral advertising on a basic level. At least in theory.
